'71 Signal orange paint code question

I want to have a new paint tag made up for the '71 Targa. The color is Signal orange, can someone confirm that the paint code for a '71 Targa is 1410? I think the paint code for a coupe is 1414. Thanks.

That's what Dr. B. Johnson's book says. Code 116. Another book I have says 1414 and doesn't distinguish between coupe and Targa.

    Brian,

You are right, the paint code is 116 and the paint # for a targa is 1410

The Red Book says 'Paint Code' is 1410/1414 (Targa/Coupe) and 'colour chart number' is 116...

Thanks guys for the confirmation. Morgan's book doesn't list the Targa/Coupe differences. Does anyone know where I could get it stamped and what fasteners were originally used to put the tag on with? Thanks again.

    Brian,

I would think a machine shop would have the stamps you could use on your blank plate.

For ataching, there was a thread here (or maybe Pelican) about appropriate fasteners for the plate. I think it leads to McMaster Carr (www.mcmaster.com).

My bodywork guy tells me the tags are attached using a square section tack with a domed head

Thanks guys for the info. Looks like the fasteners are on page 3137 of the McMasters Catalog. Do you know what size is correct? I don't have any used fasteners to measure.

Do you have the holes in your car? If so, you can use a drill to meaure the hole size.
