    Revson 911 S Info needed

Does anyone here have any recolection of Peter Revson's personal 911S ? I am working on getting the car and I am trying to find out what it really is.

Here is what it has: It is a 71 S It has 74 RSR steel flares with the vents front and rear and a tea tray spoiler, It has Scheel seats and rollbar, It has 9 and 11 inch RSR wheels. The car is painted red with black window trim. It appears the car was built in 74 or 75. The engine seems to have been added later as it is a carburated single plug engine and there is evidence that a twin plug engine may have liver there as the instruments are a 10,000 rpm tach and 300 kph speedo.

Does this car ring any bells or does anyone know who may have known Revson's cars personally? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

    Best,

    Don

    Don,

Could be an interesting car... No other info???... like, was Revson the first owner? ... was it he who did the mods?

He drove a '73 RSR (in '73) a couple of times in IMSA and TransAm. Then joined the IROC series for the '74 model year ... then was killed in South Africa just a short time later that same year. So the window was short for him to convert a '71 to a contemporary '74/'75 hot-rod ... However, he was PETER REVSON!!!... and could pretty much afford anything he wanted.

Maybe start with Harvey Weidman... He was part of that IROC deal back in the day... maybe he remembers Revson blast'n around the pits at Riverside in a cool street car...

    Thanks Chuck,

I will call Harvey. Unfortunately little is known about the car. It went through an auction in the early 1980s where it was described as his car. There is not much else to go by. Thanks again Chuck will keep you posted.

    Don
