    What does the S in 911S mean?

    What does the S in 911S mean?
    I thought it meant "super" but as far as I know that word does not cross over to German. Any ideas?

    Wink

    Super does exist in German. Try saying Super-afen-titten-geil which literally means super-ape-tit-horny(or cool)...
    A popular expression I learned in the 80's from my northern German friends.

    I always thought it was a carryover form the 356 super90, or 356 SC. The super had more HP.

    I was always taught:

    T = touring
    E = einspritz (for fuel injected)
    S = sport

    Correct?

    Ja, korrect, 72targa. Zehr gut, das ist ganz ausgeseichnet.

    I think the T and E designations I offered would be for a Japanese car.
