I completely agree. If you love classic sports cars, there is no better magazine than OCTANE. How about those pictures of the Ferrari 250 series? Magnificent.

I find the photography in 'Octane' to be excellent but, like so many of the classic car magazines (in the UK at least) the accompanying reports are often historically inaccurate & riddled with inexcusable mistakes.

For instance in the latest Porsche article comparing Eoin Sloan's T/R, a '73 Carrera RS Touring & a 993 GT3RS they state:

"...the 911RS, which was the homologation special based on the 1972 2.7 litre Carrera, the first of the longer wheelbase cars."

"...the 2.7 engine is much revvier to the touch of the pedal than the 2-litre"

"...the main clue is the small circular panel on the sill that gives access to the bolt for the trailing arm suspension" (torsion bar cover)

    & countless others.

    Andy,

I had the same thoughts reading the article (this writer is not a porschephile).... but it is an incredible magazine. Did you see the ad in the classifieds for the yellow '72S? 39,000 pounds sterling!! That's what, almost $55K??!!! It's not even concours quality.

If you like some variety in your classics, the cars they profile and the photo's are amazing.

    Another great mag

Have you ever seen the magazine "EVO"? They seem to always have an article about Posche. But it is expensive if you don't have a subscription. And it could be hard to find.

errors aside...it's great to read about the early sports purpose 911s. last octane (april issue) featured the 68 T/R - another favorite.
