    Circle . . .

    . . . from the '70 thru '73 PDLs . . .

    Circle Porsche Audi, Ltd
    4400 Los Coyotes Diagonal
    Long Beach, CA 90815

Matte white lettering in dull gray-brown phonographed letter-boxes, flash-chromed, no Makers' marks or ID. Plate = std CA pass w/YoE sticker

An unusual/bit-more-elaborate version of the distinctive frame from this still-active concern. Note the unique font repeated in both upper + lower rockers

    Previous mention/appearance/speculation . . .
    http://www.early911sregistry.org/for...-license-frame

    Other versions @ posts #293 + #391

Store 's moved --- several times, it seems . . . but always within eyesight of the same round-about. Hard to miss

    . . . from the '71 and '72 PDLs . . .

    Porsche Audi Manhattan
    Sales: 500 Lexington Ave
    Service: 547 West 47th St
    New York, NY 10011

Dull white lettering in matte black 'phonographed' letter-boxes, flash-chromed, no Makers' marks or ID. Plate = std NY pass, etc --- 'NW' = Orange County

Nicer OG bit = dirty but un-touched. Finer scribing in the lower corners channels RWB&Co . . . but not marked as such

Does anything last in New York?

    They're out there

    Stuck on old cars

Hanging off of garage walls + rafters

Tucked-away in odd corners of other people's lives

Most of the people who have these --- if they even know that they have 'em . . .

. . . just don't think very much of 'em

'Dad's old stuff.' Pot-metal crap. Junk

    I see a picture --- like idarts' . . .

    . . . and I want to be in that place --- somewhere I've never been . . . and can never go . . .

    . . . but the frames have

And for some of these places? --- maybe not Circle, but a LOT of others . . .

    . . . a frame 's about all that's left

That looks a lot like the Paul Newman VW. His was much more subtle but it had the same body aesthetics none the less.
Porsche taste on a Volkswagen budget...
