    Hembrough

    From the '72 PDL . . .

    Hembrough Volkswagen Porsche Audi, Inc
    1200 S. 31st St By Pass 66 &Route 29
    Springfield, IL

No discernible paint of any kind, either in upper or lower 'phonographed' rockers --- the latter split into two smaller parts . . . flash-chromed, no Makers' marks or other ID; plate = std IL pass, reflective finish

That address no longer exists --- prolly taken out with Route 66 at the coming of the Interstate

Anyway, there is mention of a Dirksen address --- close-by, as it turns out . . . with a Hyundai store currently at that location

Here is the plate and frame that was on my car when I got it, you can see it hasn't been on the road in 40 years. I have a question for this license plate frame group. What is your opinion about the frame if I am doing a full restoration, paint, motor interior... would you leave the frame and plate as is original patina or restore it also, repaint the plate and re chrome the frame? While we are at it, what about the hood Porsche emblem, use original patina one, or get a new one?

The Truman Motors plate was red inside with white letters if you are going to restore it.

    Pretty darn cool plate!

Anyone have or no where I may find a GUZ MOZART Palo Alto dealer plate frame? Been on the hunt for awhile now.

Just picked up a 1980 Targa that was originally purchased from Interlake in Bellevue - any chance you still have these and are willing to part with one or both frames?

On my G-body car. The original owner was a mechanic at Rector in East Bay, California and owned the car from new in 1977 through 1998 when he sold it to the family I bought it from. They're an Audi dealership now. I found the plate frame on eBay and totally over-paid but I thought it was a cool way to acknowledge the origins of the car.
