    Midwest Esses

I wanted to share some photos of a wonderful collection of early esses that most of you have not seen. I went to a fellow Early S Reg. and RGruppe member's house yesterday and we drove his early cars around the rural countryside of Northwest Chicago. The stable includes the following: a 61K mile, two owner original Bahia Red '72E (found in the local paper about 6 weeks ago); a 69K mile original Irish Green '70S (the older brother of Paul's car); a Viper Green '72S; and a 2.7RS spec. Conda Green '70S (my favorite car of the bunch to drive). Oh, he also has a wicked fast Sunbeam Tiger.

Here is couple of group shots.

Here are several shots of the '72E.

A sign of a midwest Republican owner.

    Midwest Esses (part two)

Here are several shots of the Irish Green '70S. A fantastic example of the 2.2L 'S'. My favorite original car of the group.

My favorite section of the car which shows a fantastic patina.

And of course an action shot. Oh yeah!

    The Viper Green '72S.

    Nicely detailed engine.

    The Tiger and the 'Snake'

Hard to take a bad photo of these 2 beauties.

I had a great time and can't wait to do again sometime, but with a little orange mixed in for fun.

    Jol,

I wish you could have been there also. It was really a blast. The Black car is almost there. Check it out.

    Chris,

I have to agree with you. The color is even more 'electric' in person than in the photo. I don't know if it is a true Factory shade of Viper Green but who cares. It was hard not laugh at the expressions on the faces of those that we blew by when driving the Conda Green car and this one together.
