    Where to get interior parts?

My last post was when my 70 E had a broken tooth on my pinion gear and asking what options are there regarding transmission rebuilt/upgrade. I am happy to report that I found a period correct 901 on ebay for less than $400 and my local shop installed it for twice about that (I know they overcharged me, I was going to do it myself, but my wife talk me out of it). My car is now back on the road, thanks for all replies to my last post.

It has been over 10 years since my last freshing up of the interior (new carpet, after market door packets, Audi seat belts from a 78 Audi 5000 ($30 each side), plastic dash cover and 944 seats). It was no show quality, but it looked ok at a distance. Now, after 10 years of almost daily driving and 50,000 mi, the interior needs another freshing up or restoration. I want to replace the steering wheel, dash, visor, headliner, kneeguards with a/c vents, upper door panel trim pices and other interior parts. This car is my daily driver and I am not big on originality, but do want it to look "early Porsche like."

Where are good sources of early porsche interior parts, factory and aftermarket?

Is the dash still in production? Is it possible to get one without speaker cutout? After market?

Are the visors and upper door trims in production? After market?

My original steering wheel is melting and my hands get dirty after each drive. What can I do to stop it before I have it covered with leather?

    All responses are greatly appreciated.

    Robin,

Go to Pelican Parts and bullitan board. Tons of resources. Also there is Stoddards, Performance products, Tweeks and many others. On the Pelican BB you can search thousands of threads in the archives. You can find info and links to just about anything you can think of for your car from stock to Rod.

    Cheers,
    Michael
