    MI PCA "Color Tour" pics.

Gee... got home and discovered my camera focused mainly on one car (okay, two). It's the real deal... not a kit. Running a 906 twin plugged engine - (the owner has the original). We do have a few cool cars here! Bravo to the owner for taking it out for a run!

The leaves are sure at their peak color in MI now. Agreed the 906 looks great especially with the Fuchs wheels. The white with black Carrera graphics looks like the scheme used on the very early Carrera RS cars. I also like the orange pumpkin 914, very creative.

Those 906 pics are sweet. The interior has that period unmolested look of a car that could tell some awesome stories about it's past. I'd love to hear from that owner what he knows about it's previous service.

Great pics...but despite running a 6, isn't it still a 904? I agree about getting in and out...Todd & then wife Mary Webb had a 904 back in the day...I was a LOT skinnier then, but at 6'3", once in the car, I couldn't close the door...my left knee wouldn't allow it. I was a POed young guy, because I'd been invited to take it out for a spin...

yes, I believe so, although there is a small number (1 I think?) of 906 prototypes, that were essentially 904s with 906 running gear (suspension, motor, etc.) and some other updates.

Gunnar Racing was recently restoring a 906 prototype.Their website goes into pretty good detail, about all the mechanical up-dates, and differences they found in that car, compared to both 906s and 904s they've done. God knows they've done enough of them.

BTW, cool pictures. I LOVE hearing about guys that street their gems. Any more info/history about that car?

Yes, it is a 904. The owner is a local architect and has had the car for over 30 years. He drives it quite often. This car is rolling Porsche racing history - I was a bit surprised that it didn't get that much attention from the people on the drive. I don't think most realized what they were looking at... unfortunate. Me? - I was passing Boxsters and 944s like a madman just to get near it on the road.

I'll send him a link, maybe he'll answer some questions.
