    Paint in Portland

Anybody in or near Portland know a great place to get a complete bare metal repaint done on an early 911? I'm 2 hours away but not having much luck finding people eho have done a lot of 911's before here. I'm looking for someone who will also do the fitting on FG rear bumper and decklid, and take off some of the trim and replace it. (I'll do some myself, but not all).

    Thanks!

You might call Rothsport in Tualatin and ask Steve or Jeff where they have their work done. It will be high end I suspect.

It may be heresy to say this...but go to a street rod cruise in. Find cars with admirable paint. You'll see plenty of those, because these guys KNOW paint. Ask who did the job...go on from there. I've seen paint jobs at cruise-ins that put anything I've seen at a PCA parade concours to shame when it comes to quality.

Thx Paul - I found that guy. But... he doesn't seem to know about Porsche trim - even left the headlight buckets unpainted on the last 911 he did. Also Pcar folks say he is shining them on (re time, I think). This is the kind of thing that makes me want to live in a large city....

    Good idea tho.

Hey Randy, you might want to check out Roth Miller if you haven't already. Ask for Dave Rosenthal. 503.257.9255
