Smile last week end... what they were made for

For those of you that are Registry members and have read the article in the ESSES on my rebuild know that I hurt my engine at a Alfa Club event at Willow Springs in Jan, '03 ... Well, wouldn't ya know the first time I'd take my newly rebuilt car on the track would be at the same event 21 months later

I went out with my car buddy (and Alfa guy) Hector and we both did well, the cars ran GREAT, and we generally had-a blast...

Also racing and time trialing were friends and Registry/ R-Gruppe members Johnny Riz, Mike Gagen, TRE Dave B., Mike Marshall, and Jack Olsen ... (see Pelican racing message board) ... and even old Lars W. came up for a visit on Sun with his beautiful new car...

It was a Great weekend, the likes of which is truly VERY doable for most of you lads where ever you are ... it's what these old cars were made for...

Chuck's car looked awesome shooting down the front straight. Then again, so did the cars covered with race decals Mike Marshall, Mike Gagen, Mike Kaidby, Jim, etc).

But the street look cars (like John Risvold's, who was there, too) really take you back in time.

Magnus and Lars both brought by new additions, a red 70T (I think) with a 2.4 swapped in and a silver 73S.

Thumbs up What they were made for.....

is EXACTLY what we were doin' with 'em last weekend...right Chuck?

no candie @$$ concours or static displays...except for our brief post track session vanity line up

the 'ol blue "S" was lookin pretty peppy out there with it's new heart pumpin with higher compression.

I know you have a few more seconds yet untapped to trim off your lap times...

too bad we weren't in the same run group...I woulda liked to dice it up wit ya ...

Great weekend! So good that I'll be back out at BW on Nov 6/7 to do it all again!!
