    WARNING!! anyone allergic to fourty year old fiberglass stay clear of this thread

    well... the seat showed up today and this is without a doubt the earliest recaro bucket that I've ever seen, check it out

    Very, very cool. What do you plan doing with it? since a seat like that can't really be used.

    Restoration? Display? Keep it "real"(aka do nothing)?

    When are you opening up your parts collection as a museum, or for fellows esses to view?

    It's absolutely beautiful Sam. It looks to predate the '65 "Recaro", but not like the Speedster looking "Ferrari" seat that Dr. J shows. It has to be an early, early competition seat. What's your thought? An R proto-prototype seat? A real collector piece, congratulations. Just beautiful!!

    Sam, you should put some of these seats on Recaro office seat frames for Studio 901!! That'd be cool.

    well... if I told you I knew for sure I'd be lying, the seat is finished much like a speedster seat but it's definitely not speedster




    notice the fabric wrapped around the back of the seat like this speedster seat, and there is no provison for a headrest, I'm guessing early 60's it's also definitely before what has been called an R-seat but is actully the pre-67 sport seat
