    I need the url for the 911R website please

    I believe Ernie Wilburg (sp?) set up a very comprehensive and helpful site on the 911R. Can somebody please post the address of the site? Thanks top all

    Sorry to revive an old thread

    Does the 911R still hold the records for highest average speed?

    96 hours @ 130.01 mph
    10,000 mi @ 130.62 mph

    If not, who now holds the records? Anyone know?

    I'd have to look it up but, Mark Donohue kicked some serious records with the 917/30 at Talladega that held for quite a while. I don't recall off hand what records they were. Maybe it was the fastest average speed on a closed course in the coolest car?!

    Thanks Jens. I think you're right about Donahue. Seems like I recall reading about that somewhere, but I think it might have been Daytona? But even that was a long time ago, and a long time for a record to stand.

    Talladega 1975, closed course record of 221.12 mph in the Cam2 917/30. It held for years and years and years...
