Thread: Tomorrow's meeting

    Suggestion

think limiting certain access/functions of the boards to the paying members could work to cut bandwidth costs (PMs, posting pics, custom user text and such).
Another thing that could be done, is posting next to the user name and green "on-line" dot, the words "paying member" or "non paying memeber".

This is however delicate snce it exposes publicly those who don't pay, and therefore needs to be 100% accurate and up to date.

There is an address to MAIL A CHECK to, is that too hard?
Roger, this is hard on international members who don't have a checking account in the US, but then there is always the credit card option, and if you are a little persistent, it works.

This is a great board, and I bet we all would want it much better, that that takes $$$$.

Just read this thread myself and I admit that I have let my membership lapse. I will make it a point to try to re-up, but my experience in these sort of things is that you need to make it as easy as possible. Call it busy, lazy.....whatever simplicity increases your chances of income.
My suggestion is a paypal account.
Thanks to everyone who puts forth the effort to keep this alive =)

These are all things that are common with small, volunteer non-profit orgs.

But.... it would be good to straighten them out. I think this thd gives a clue to how to boost payments.....

What a bunch of whining! This aint no eBay (but if it was and you'd won those Sport Seats for $500, you'd find a way to get the payment in even if you had to drive to the seller yourselves) with Paypal (which costs $$ to set up, which Chuck is telling you all the SReg doesn't have enough of in the first place!).

I joined this board 12 months before I had a car, as it was invaluable to me in the process of getting one. I get tired of hearing "well, mine is a T with RGruppe mods, not an S so....". Unless and until RGruppe has a BBoard and goes it's separate ways, I believe you are more than welcome here, E, T, L or whatever. Maybe this org should lose the S moniker (don't want the RS owners to feel like they are slumming it by hanging out here ). Frankly, I could care less. The early 911 community needs a center, and this is the best place to start.

To the Registry Board - I think you either need to acknowledge that getting dues paid is going to just be like this (I seem to see this type of thread every 6 months or so, same plea, same guilt trip, same excuses), or you need to build in a payment system to gain access to parts (or all ) of the web site.

PS - didn't renew my PCA membership because I see no value in it.

Some of us can take a hint...

    All,
Just sent pmt via fax to M. Hammond...
Been meaning to sign up for the Registry for quite some time here.

Just reading this thread was enough to get me off my can and pony up...I don't particularly enjoy being crabbed at, and called a free loader...

I know I'm not alone: I just hope Hammond's fax machine is working overtime.

    Cheers
