how to remove dash knee pad in a SWB?

did the search and all info pertains to later cars. took a look with flash light and didn't see the 2 nuts approx 3" from either side so i am assuming the older cars are different. would like to remove the dash knee pad to re-upholster and possibly replace the 68 elephant hyde part as well.
    how do i remove it?
    thanks in advance.

    Bob,

The knee pad is held in place with threaded studs. Feel your hand around the back and you will find them easy enough. It is tight but it should not be a big deal. Good luck.

    Best,

this is a bit off topic but my bother said you may know off a company who sells front R grills covers.

I plan to remove my front grill and place thru the horn grill lights but would like to use the cover to make it look like the R and this way I do not have to cut the original grill.

Please email me the company that sells them.

    thank You

thanks don! how many am i looking for?

john, i think you are asking about the front R "turn signal plates" which can be purchased here:

i believe TRE sells them as well.

i am not sure wat you are asking though. you want to run the style plates that include the turn signal and grill then mount the lights through them? did you get your wheels done? did you get the rocker panel p scripts on?

got the wheels done but i think it is too dark, mat have jay redo them using a lighter shade of gray more like silver matte finish.

Did not get the side script yet, decided to hold off for now.

jay told me that I can get a replacement grille to go in place of the stock grille sort of look like an R this way it looks cleaner when i install my fog lights.

I do not want to cut the stock grill.
