How much is this car worth?

Numbers matching '73S coupe originally light ivory (131), converted to '74 RSR bodywork no documentation, mileage unknown. Seller says he has original seats, door panels and steering wheel in garage but no original long hood bodywork. Rust around rocker sills and under fuel-tank areas.

    Ahhh, mobile.de - right?

Anyway, I recognize it from somewhere about a year ago

What's it worth? How much time do you have to fix it yourself and how good is your access to early parts?

It strikes me that when we start to think about Science Projects like this one the market is peaking. Like getting stock tips from a NYC taxi driver...

Let's start at the finished value of a restored, no history LHD 73S. Let's say $40,000 (tops). That car needs a complete body rebuild and paint ($15K), interior ($4K), motor rebuild ($7K), rims ($2K), miscellaenous other costs ($2K). That makes $30K. Would you give him $10K (£6,000)?

Hmmmm....every Porsche attracts a different person for different reasons. The costs for the aforementioned 'refreshments' add up to a lot if paid up front to be sure. That said, sometimes the specific 'look' of 'that' car appeals so hard to 'that' individual, that assuming all else is functional at least, one might pony up that much just to have 'it'. I did with no regrets.

€16,000 eh? Maybe U$ but nobody paid €16,000 for that Science Project. Even the French aren't that clueless...

    Hmmm, '73 S engine in a '73 S. Sounds logical to me, and I don't smoke!

Hell, throw a silver ducktail on it and I'd drive it as a '74 RSR. Then in a few years when the market is $100k US for a '73 S, I'd do the resto.

    A light Ivory '73 911 S...restored, oh yeah!
