    RSR at 76 Lauda Nurburgring Crash

    I was viewing some photos of Niki Lauda's fiery crash at the Nurburgring in 1976. I noticed what appears to be a 1973 911 RSR safety car at the scene. It appears to have a large "R" in place of any race number. There is also some sort of hose or cable coming out of the front trunk area - maybe a built-in fire-extinguishing system?

    Actually, I wonder if this is the converted 71 S "ONS" car (911 230 0353) described in 'Carrera RS' (page 134)?

    Looks like there might be a large red coloured tank in the front boot...perhaps the RSR was their rapid fire intervention vehicle...Makes some sense if driven well.
