I highly recommend MotorMeister for the engine work. They can do amazing things with used parts and they're inexpensive...hell, they're a bargain. Ask for Roy. Happy to help.

I thought a 2 stage with a clearcoat was the way to go.
can someone explain why a single coat is the way to go?

Single stage is what the factory used, except for metallic colors which used a clear coat. It's more authentic.

OK...Ok...if a 'rebuid' is the same as a 'rebuild' GO FOR IT!!!!!!!!!!!

I think that $2500 for a 'rebuid' is GOOD deal. Is that just a top end or ?!?!?!?!?! ..

    Engine Rebuilding

    TABs,

Don't know where you are located.
THE best Porsche engine shop I know of is in Oregon.
ROTHSPORT Road and Race. They did both my motors.
Not cheap, but EVERYTHING will be done correctly to factory or better levels.
I too would recommend installation of the case piston squirters on an early case along with the oil by-pass modification and a later oil pump. The 2.7/3.0RS, early 2.7CIS, and SC cylinders were Nikasil. The early style E/S MAHLE from 2.0-2.4 were BIRAL.
The Nikasil cylinder/piston combination required the oil squirters. The other set ups simply get better lubrication and cooling.
Case saver inserts are a good idea too, even with steel head studs.
Any engine that goes through RS will receive all of these goodies and more.
Again, not a bargain shop. But if you want the best...
