    Vintage Race Group question:

    Does anyone here vintage-race and/or belong to either HMSA or CSRG?

    I'd be interested in learning more about both groups...especially how they feel about swb 911s. I know my car probably isn't close to being legal for HSMA stuff, but CSRG appears to be a whole different deal...

    and yes...I've visited both of their websites. My next move will be to contact both groups' respective eligibility POCs.

    Anyone? any insight on this?

    Hi Thom,
    I race with both groups although my membership is with SOVREN. I think the car eligibility requirements are pretty similar for all three groups - generally the cars are to be period correct with the exception of up-to-date safety equipment.

    The early 911's are quite popular and well represented at the events. All cars are tech inspected before each event, these are focused on safety issues, not period correctness.

    The main 'correctness' issues are going to be the obvious things like fiberglass body panels, duck tails, flared fenders or if you showed up with a 3.2 under the hood and turned lap times 10 seconds faster than the other 911's - THEN you would get called out.

    It's a BLAST, you will love it!
