    The passing of a hero

I regret to inform you of the passing of Milt Minter...

Registry member, R-Gruppe member, hard charging hero of the racing world, and good friend.

Milt lost his long battle with cancer yesterday about 3:00PM ...

A memorial will be set sometime after the New Year.

Love and sympathy to Melissa and the family.

    That's a real shame.

Damn...we all know we're gonna go, but this guy was special. His podium pic with tongue out is burned in my memory.

Milt usually seemed to be the underdog and did amazing things with many of the cars he drove. I got a lot of pleasure just watching him drive. [These were my SCCA racing days and I hated watching other people drive cars that I wanted to drive!] There were only 3 drivers I LOVED watching, Milt, Gilles, and Hans. All had the ability to consistently drive modern race cars like they were in some '30s skinny tired machine.

Milt was the only American and a genuine Californian. He was the perpetual underdog. You are right Chuck. Never has someone done so much with so little.

Rest in peace, Milt. We won't forget you.

Milt was a "great one". The films of him in a 911 on 3 wheels are not easily forgotten, and neither will he be.
