    Green

I would like to find out more about the paint code on this car. Does anyone know? It's one of our member's cars.

    Thanks.

Yeah, the color tones in general are a bit unusual. I sure would like to know the paint code or number. Looks to be metallic, so Irish Green is suspect.

It sure is a unique color. The side shot background coloration looks a lot more natural so it might be a fair representation of what it looks like in the flesh. ???

    Jens,

I believe the color is called simply "green metallic" and is code 230. Here is a shot of the color plate and surrounding paint area. Despite the smudge around the plate, I am almost sure that the doorjamb area is the original paint. Not the same car as the one you posted, but it sure looks like the same color to me. I have other shots of this color. Let me know if you would like any others.

There are several metallic green colors. The paint codes and color chart numbers get confusing. I think it's easy to presume that the same color was carried over into different years with different codes and paint chart numbers. I don't think that's necessarily the case.

Here's another; Special Order Dark Green Metallic-

Does anyone have a pic of the 1970 paint chart #221 Metallic Green (paint code 8383) on the car?

'68 had a Special Order #6852 Metallic Dark Green.

There's also #224 Metallic Green listed as a '72 Special Order color.

Special Order #230 Metallic Green is a '73 color. WTF?!

So much for the much touted Teutonic regimentation! Vere ist der logic?!
