    Porsche Parade

As a non-Cailfornian I've been admiring the events & pictures of the past couple of days in So Cal & am looking forward to this summers Parade in Hershey PA. With registration only 2 weeks away I was wondering if any of you guys 1) have attended a parade 2) are planning on this summers event & finally, can a lone guy really enjoy the parade? Thanks.

I haven't gone to a Pea-raid since 1978...but yeah, I'd think a lone guy could have fun, especially if you're going for the cars. As an event to pick up women? Not so good. I will admit, after going to 3 parades, I kind of figured that was enough. As much as I love Porsches, a solid week of nothing but becomes a bit much.

I'd like to attend the Parade, but my business precludes that idea. I will be rolling into Hershey for the swap meet for sure and I'm looking at the Rolex 24 race (but it's said that motels and rental cars will be scarce due to the Superbowl game up the road the same weekend).

I think we will have a few early cars coming up from North Carolina. We'll probably join some of the other local Porsche owners, same as our trip to Rennsport in '04. I did not have much desire to go to last year's Parade in FL (too hot for no a/c in summer), but having been to Hershey for the swap meet and the slightly revised events of this year's makes it more interesting.

We are going to have a pretty strong Early 911S presence as well as a respectable R Gruppe turnout. I'm not really a Porsche Parade kinda guy, but I wouldn't miss this one. There will be a lot of early cars coming out of the woodwork for this one. As we get closer we will be able to post gathering places and likely watering holes to get together. So jdevil (if that IS your real name ), you won't be wanting for good company!

Looking forward to meeting up with some of you.

I am making the trip from Australia... Haven't been to a parade since 93.

I am planning to bring some grille badges, decals, and possibly some polo shirts to swap / give away...

If you have any r gruppe, early s regsiter stuff to swap back that would be tremendous.

    Getting to the Parade

As I've mentioned elsewhere I am flying in from Sydney Australia for the 50th Porsche Parade in Hershey.

I land in new York (JFK) pm on June 22.

If there are any people going from New York and environs to the Parade around this time and want to have an enthusiatic Aussie passenger - drop me a private email.

Otherwise its a rental car or the train.

    Regards,
