Red face If only we were about 9"

My good friend (and studio master model maker) Lou started a 1/6th scratch made 917-K10 a few years ago. He first sculpted the 'buck' then made a couple preliminary vacuum form 'pulls' and took one of them around to historic events for feedback and autographs.

He's now is back on the project in a big way with help from Carl Thompson (formally of Vasek Polak) with full access to REAL parts and measurements...

Went over to Lou's shop the other day and took some pics of vintage parts and some very fine model work...

    ... and the 'small' stuff

This model will eventually have full interior, chassis, suspension, and engine
... Lou already has orders from what he's shown... the production run will probably be no more then 12.

... ... YES they will be expensive... but worth every cent

    model

....wow....that looks to be incredible; I have been collecting thru the years and it is hard to find that quality in such a large scale, altho Exoto and GMP make some decent pieces. I bet these will be quite exquisite w/ a price to match...especially at 12 pcs. Pls keep us posted........

    Development of the Porsche 917

    Chuck:
I've added a copy of "The Development of the Porsche type 917 car" to my web site, see www.pbase.com/911r/917 this info may help Lou in his model.
