Note from Vern and Betsi Lyle

For those of you who remember them, I thought I would pass this on.

I was corresponding with Vern recently regarding his B-Modified Sorcerer DSR (which is for sale, BTW) and he dropped these tidbits of info:

"There's still a good chance that Betsi will be relocated to Boston with the same company (the now infamous Merck & Co). I'm not in favor, but we'll see. Certainly a long way from SoCal.

We don't do much Porsche stuff anymore except drive the car on nice days. But with 25-30 autocrosses a season there's not much time left for "fun". We are designing the course for the Parade in Hershey, but since we will have prerun it, we won't be competing. Miss the Registry contacts but there's only so much time..."

I told him to drop by the forum here and say hi.

I hope he drops by. We all owe Vern & Betsi thanks. Without their early efforts, this group, and thus this board, wouldn't exist.

ABSOLUTELY!!!... 5 years of Vern & Betsi's technical and personal 'grass roots' efforts started and laid the foundation of where this club is today....

Some of Vern's original articles are still some of the best...

I believe we still offer reprints of most or all of Vern & Betsi's first 5 years of the ESSES news letters...

Chuck, do you have a scanner? It might be cool to post a few of the early articles here, in order to give a sense of "roots" to our newer members...
