    RSR roof hole?

    When I purchased my 73 S it had a 5/16 hole between the sun roof and windshield. i haven't seen another 911 having this until this weekend a 73RSR at the Rolex 24 hours at Daytona Florida. This one had a chrome plug. anyone have one or know what is supposed to be there?

    I believe it was for an 'I.D. light' or a radio antenna...

    I replaced the headliner and there was an antena attachment inside but thought it was aftermarket or something. I guess the other thing that puzzels me is my front fenders have no factory hole for an antena and no filled in or bondo. Is this a radio delete thing. all the fenders I have seen have an antena hole. my S did have all of the wires to hook up a Frankfurt that I put in later.

    The antenna was for two way communication from the car to pits ... things were a little different back in the day...

    I was looking at that car also at Daytona this past weekend. It was an ordinary 911S that was converted and successfully campaigned at the 24 in 76 and 77. Great car.
