911T that did not run for a while

My 2.2 T was stopped from many years.
At this time, I started it again but I find it is not really powerfull. The day I started it, engine did not want to go up than 5.000 rpm

Now, I ran about 400 miles at 90 MPH and it runs better. Yesterday, I reached 6.000-6.200 rpm in second gear, of course when engine warm.

Are these symptoms normal for a car that did not run for a while and that may need a new "breaking-in" or a "scrubbing-down".

or these symptoms are simply that the engine is worn ?

The engine is Weber 40IDAs carbed

I do not know how long your car sat idle but after the first year the gas is not really very good and takes me awhile to get over the hard starting, pinging and sluggish behaveir the new gas dilutes it eventually. The sluggish brake pedal can feel crisp and responsive again with new brake fluid and it helps calipers from sticking. also changing the engine oil is important just from the contamints aquired from condensation. I would not make up your mind on the cars wear intill you have ran it for a few tank fulls and changed those fluids, have fun , Fritz

    Sithot, good suggestions.

I will use a carb cleaner, and also and additive like "valves cleaner". Oh ! My carbs are not the T Zeniths 40 TIN common ones but Weber 40 IDA.

The ignition control is an other thing to check. I have an old dizzy, the Marelli and I've heard that points are not available. About the CDI unit, I planed to replace it by a multisparks Mallory Hyfire unit. May be sooner than planed...

Here are pics of my engine

I agree with Sithot. You probably have a clogged jet or two, or transition orifices. Make sure you have a new fuel filter after cleaning.
