    MFI+Throttle Body rebuilds

Anyone have an opinion on the best shops for MFI rebuilds and throttle body refurbishments? What kind of $ am I looking at?

    Thanks for any help.

A.T., I had the MFI injection pump rebuilt with an RS space cam by Hanz at H&R Fuel Injection (in NY) for $950, and I sent a rough set of 2.4T stacks, throttle bodies and ALL the linkage to Eurometrix (in MA). They were completely refurbished (like new!) and bored to S/RS specs. That set me back a little over $1,900.

    Jim,

Thanks for the info. What was your turnaround time? I've been told to make an appt. several weeks out.(before removing and shipping) Once at the shop 4-6 weeks?

Ray, that sounds about right for Eurometrix. Hanz at H&R is faster for his part of the injection system. Hanz will likely tell you to send your injectors for testing. I did, he tested them and told me how many were bad or marginal, and then he had me send him a new set of injectors that I purchased to verify they were good. All of the injector testing was done without charge. Hanz is very easy to work with.

Here's what the stacks and throttle bodies looked like when I got them back:

I can vouch for Hans who is beyong knowledgeable. His shop is close by. His shop uses the old Bosch benches and testing equiptment which is really interesting to see. Hans goes back to the Peter Gregg/IMSA days. Matt is also aces. By having both components of the injection done you are really doing it right. Very little adjustment was needed on my engine. Good luck.

    Best,

    Don

It was always recommeded to me to go to the following for repairs to our mechanical fuel injection pumps:

    Pacific Fuel Injection Service

    153 Utah Avenue
    South San Francisco, CA 94080
    Tel: (650) 588-8880

I would assume they'd have a recommendation on throttle body rebuilders?
