Thread: Some questions for a real "R" expert

    Some questions for a real "R" expert

    A friend is restoring a Real 911R and I need a real expert to answer a few questions.

    I need to know if someone can definitively tell me the correct color for the underside

    of the front trunk. I Am also looking for a original lightweight rear window and trim.

    Any other 911R "real" parts would be considered as well.

    Thanks

    Raw fiberglass and balsa wood. Paint would have added weight.

    Jens, Anyone;

    Maybe you can put to rest a confusion that came up on another R thread.
    Were there 3 (Ludvigsen) or 4 (andyjboy and GT Purely Porsche) prototypes ?
    Please give your source.

    Thanks;
    John

    Yes, but the moisture absorbed would make up for it.

    There's a moisture abatement technique for wood components...glass it in.

    4 protos.

    Sources? Punch up a search for 911R prototypes. It was a comprehensive study of the R prototypes.

    Thanks Jens knew I could count on you - I did expect though your response would come in the form of obscure action pics from long lost periodicals.
    So 4 it is - maybe they should lower the price of Excellence was Expected by 1 dollar.
    Next question.
    Jens, do you know if anyone has ever fabricated a plow adapter for a 67 ?

    Thanks again;
    John

    Randy, I just performed a search and it appears the files were lost when our site was hacked some months ago. What a pity as it was an exhaustive study of the prototypes. The sources and info that was posted was likely the most expert study of the R prototype ever compiled in one place. Damn those hackers! I do have a she-itload of photos though.

    John, there does exist a highly developed 911 snow plow. I have one. It is a self contained stand-alone unit built by Dodge.

    John, I'm told an RSR front spoiler and splitter can be very effective for snow removal. Call Dave at TRE, he has them.

    Then just lower the car to 23 inches at the fender!
