Thinking of mounting Cibie's on my shorthood -- opinions?

Even bringing up this idea should probably expose me to a well-deserved barrage of ridicule and derision -- but I can't resist the idea.

Jeff Smith sold me a nice pair of Cibie's recently, and I'd like to mount them on the hood of my silver '77 Carrera 3.0. This would not be entirely without precedent -- there are some pictures below of Cibie's on short-hood race cars. I can't decide whether it would look really cool, or just, well, stupid, in a PVC-piping-roll-cage kind of way. Any thoughts?

Ah, good point. What kind of switch was used, and where was it mounted in the cabin?
