No one wants to touch this one - so Bob, how many did you discover in your research to build that beautiful R you have - 3 or 4 ?

i'll stick my neck out and say "whatever andy says". who else has taken that many pics of 2 of the prototypes. who else has probably had hours of conversations with the people who have restored the prototypes. who else has provided rare parts for these cars. although i have not personally asked andy but my guess is that the crew that restored the 2 prototypes had andy's phone number on their speed dial. seriously i could go on about andy's in-depth knowledge of the R.

I do not mean to cast any doubts on what Andy said, or what was written in that article, I know very little about R's or any of these cars for that matter.
I'm just an F 'n N ew G uy.
I am only trying to find out why it is that Ludvigsen would say that the Porsche records (which I assume he saw) say 3 and Andy and GT Porsche mag say 4 .

That's a valid question John...and I'm sure that somehow the correct answer will surface.

4. 307670S Zitronengelb
Source Weissach (and other)
btw, my familyname is Ludvigsen, but we`re not related
It usually takes a extra month or two for the english mags to get here. Is the Febuary GT Purely Porsche here in the states on the newstand?
Here is a question I have never seen answered.
It is known that Karl Baur Co. built the 911R for Porsche. Who built the 4, prototypes? Porsche or K. Baur Co. ?
One more question......Did Baur receive production 911 bodies and they built the rest? Or did Porsche do the body work, ( welding on flares), and supply them with all the pieces to be assembled?
Feb GT hit the shelves at Barnes/Noble on the 18th of this month. I picked one up in San Jose.
It's getting expensive.. GT, Octane, 911/Pworld, Classic Sports Car......

If there really were 4, has anyone contacted (the other) Ludvigsen so it can be corrected in the 3rd edition?
It seems odd that he would have gotten it wrong twice.
