    RS ft bumper splitter

    Greetings all,
I'm told I need a splitter, or air dam below my RS front bumper to reduce the 'lightness' I feel in the steering at speed. I have the RS 'glass bumper with a ducktail and it appears I need something more in the front to offset the ducktail's downforce. Is this true and does anyone have any pictures of what this is? I'd also like to know where to locate one.

I'd look at ride height, alignment settings and shocks before I started tuning with aero -- unless this is a track car. At speeds below 100 mph, the effects of wings and splitters is pretty minor, IMO. You'll see much more meaningful changes from toe-in (or out), caster, and overall rake of the car.

Also remember: pretty much every piece of the car ahead of the driver's nose is actively contributing to pushing the car down. The hood, in particular, is a lot bigger than any wing.

I just drove 500 miles from Los Angeles to Thunderhill with nothing but my S front splitter (in other words, no front aero), and my big 3.8RSR wing on the back, adjusted pretty aggressively. You'd think I'd have a bad ulcer from the car's handling in that many hours of driving, but no, I didn't notice anything strange at all, this at 80-90 for most of the trip.

On a track -- different story. I go nuts with the aero, there:

Thanks for the advice Jack. My car is lowered front and back by PO. I suspect the back may be a bit too low and I'll address that first.
