    Swedish Black and white...

Here is a chance to practice your swedish and at the same time check out this 1970 "T" cop-car....a Swedish "Polizei"-car...or as we say "Polisbil"...
Nice fog-mounts and those rearview"wing" mirrors should start a new R-gruppe fad...Click on "nasta bild" to scroll.../ Lars

    Lars,
What a great car. The dash switches, radio, bumper mounted foglights, trunk accessories are "unobtanium". The pictures are great too.
Two questions though: What did they do do when they caught someone - cuff them and throw them in the back seat? Secondly, Since this car was a 1970 911T and topped out at 210kph, did that mean that anyone with a 911E and 911S got away?! I don't recall if the police had helicopter pursuit back then. If not, that would have been worth the extra price of buying a 911E or 911S. Thank you for the Smorgasbord (sp).

    Cool link, Lars.

The Swedish police did indeed use Porsches in the sixties and seventies, both 911s and 912s. Out of 13 cars, this is apparently the only survivor. The cars were primarily intended for “preventive purposes” in that they would draw a lot of attention, and since there weren’t many fast cars around in Sweden at the time (think Volvo Amazon) the Porsche would easily outrun whoever tried something funny.

    Lars,

    Great car, very interesting, thanks.

It would be interesting to know if the accesories were installed aftermarket or if some of them were provided by Porsche.

    Porsche Police

There was another rare Porsche police car at Monterey R Gruppe in 2003 although I doubt it was Swedish.

The annual Monterey event is the most stunning place to see early/rare and color schemes alternatives available when these machines were new.

Nice Lars, very nice. The mirrors are suspect , but the driving light mounting is very interesting; good look. I like the dash too!

I also like the look of the driving lights mounted in front of the bumper, but it's hard to tell from the photos exactly how they are mounted.
