    Need help ID'ing Koni struts

I've picked up a few front struts recently, each described as 69-73 S Koni struts.

But they are different and I need clarification before doing a front rebuild on my 69E which has S calipers.

    Set 1
91134192601 It has a pin type base that attaches to the ball joint

    Set 2
90134107910 The base is threaded for attaching to the ball joint.

Any help in identifying these is very much appreciated! Even something like: S Koni struts didn't have threaded bases is very useful.

    thanks!

I have a 1970 S, and I know the struts are original, so I will check the part number tonight. It seems to me that mine has a pin type base. I'd assume that that the 901 part number strut might be for a SWB S car.

Thanks Rob, no need, I confirmed that the 901s were misrepresented as 69-73. Now I just have to get my money back.

Neither of the struts pictured are for a SWB car...they are totally different. The 69-72 cars had a different ball joint than the 73-89 cars, although they are interchangeable. Both struts pictured look to fit a 69-89 car...I did look at my 73 Koni struts and they are not threaded. I do not have a 69-72 strut to compair, although I do have a few SWB? struts...A SWB koni has a removable brake caliper plate and has a removable spindle as well. They look very different than your pictures.

    Good luck.
