Thumbs up EBS's new repro RSR Twin Plug Dizzy

EBS has a twin plug distributor available. It is a repro RSR twin plug set-up that EBS says can be set up for early or late cases. Also included are the cap & rotor; price is $1895.00. Wires are available @ additional cost. I saw a post on Pelican & emailed Jon for info. I did not see it listed on his website yet.

Has anyone bought & / or used one of these distributors yet? It looks pretty cool!

    Dist.

Is there a website to show a photo. Any other specifics, such as internals.

$1895 is still too much. I could build a twin plug, crank fired EFI for that price. That's a lot of money for the cool factor of having 12 plug wires for the guys to ogle over.

Agree with Kenikh here. I've been researching this, and Suzuki GSXR motorcycle throttle bodies are tied-in individuals that could easily be used on our cars. And that "squirt" injection brain would work great for the money.

Cool factor aside, the crank fired stuff is far superior. Timing can be changed for starts and then switched back for "running". It's totally accurate and has many fewer moving parts.
IF, however, money were not an object and I wanted to have the "cool" thing going, I'd have to look at a twin plug distributor. Otherwise it's old technology unless someone has really done a number on one at which point my ears will perk up and I'll listen.

    Hi Tom et el -

There is a solution that captures the best of both worlds. I am using dual MSD CD boxes, as well as 2 MSD timing computers along with a traditional looking 12 plug dizzy with Bosch cap and rotor. I can custom map the timing curves, as well as utilize some of the other MSD wiz bang features. The dizzy is fixed, so everything is done electronically. This baby will idle all day!! But the purist in me wanted a vintage looking engine compartment. This set up burns the check book, but in the end was the only solution I could live with, without having any regrets of making the wrong decision.
