901 Orange Bar Hood Badge Restoration- Group Rate!

    Hi Everyone,

I have contacted Allen Heywood from "Downunder" for rates and information concerning his restoration process of the Orange Bar 901 '65-'73 Hood Badge. I have decided to send one of mine to him so he can give it a well deserved face lift, it will be a gift to my son for his '65 restoration.

During our email conversation I asked him if he would mind if I posted his info for all of us to share. In return he said yes and has also offered us a volume discount:

Thanks, I'd appreciate that. There will be discounts for volume too. e.g.

one emblem AUD 240.00 each + AUD 45.00 EMS shipping
    2 to 5 emblems AUD 230.00 each + AUD 45.00 EMS shipping
    6 to 10 emblems AUD 220.00 each + AUD 53.00 EMS shipping
11+ emblems AUD 210.00 each + AUD 53.00 EMS shipping
I prefer to ship with insurance which is extra at AUD 5.00 + AUD 2.00 / AUD 100.00 cover.

    cheers

    Allan

The cost for one badge is about 185.00 USD and the return postage is about 35.00 USD. If you would like to send your badge to me I will include it with mine and when they return I will ship it back to you via USPS Priority Mail w/tracking or you can ship directly to him and he can ship it back to you. (the quoted shipping rates may be different then for a group- I would guess he would want them all at one time for a "group rate" but I am not sure??)

    4/15/05 email from Allen:

    G'day Glenn

Thanks for that, much appreciated. The only thing I'd say is that for group rates I'd need to have all the emblems arrive together so that they can be "batch processed". It's the economy of scale allows me to offer the discounts. The assumption here too is that the emblems are not badly knocked about and so don't require much more thatn straightening and the removal ( where possible ) of stone bruises. Some stone bruises e.g. around the horse and on the edges of the colour bars - can't be completely removed but can only be minimised, because metal removal affects the finished enamel thickness.

The shipping costs are fixed by Australia Post and are dependant on parcel size/weight.

    cheers

    Allan

I will be glad to forward our email exchange to you and you can have all the information I have. Allen seams to be a great guy and he was very prompt with all my questions!!!

    Any questions, let me know!
