Thread: Rear Window Defog Option on a 67 911?

Question Rear Window Defog Option on a 67 911?

    Guys,
I bought a used rear window on EBay last month in order to replace the one on my 67 which has some stains in between the glass which I can't get to.
When receiving the glass I noticed that it has the rear window defog wires. I am wondering if the 67 model year had this as an option or if it was only available for later models. I would be reluctant to use it if it were not an option for 67. Anyone?
Eric, with all of your 67 911S's and knowledge of the SWB models, I would expect that you would know this off the top of your head....

It is controled by a push pull switch located between the steering colum and the cigerate lighter.

If you're going through the trouble of hooking up a switch (if there's none now)
AND, if you want the defroster to be functional...

Make sure to check the continuity of every wire in your new/used window...

Before you go through the exorcize, find out if the window will
    work when hooked up...

When replacing mine years ago... I went through 5 used rear windows before I found one that showed continuity through every one of the wires...

    Just my 2 cents...

    Cheers,

Sorry, wasn't on earlier...but you have your reply...

Accessory code for that item is 9484, and it could also be had with "tinted" (catacolor) glass.

It was fairly expensive...$62.50, considering that a 100 litre tank was $74.50, and sport seats were only $15.00 (which is deceptive, as you had to give up your regular seats....).
