    New England 1000 Vintage Rally

Has anyone participated in one of the rallies organized by Vintage Rallies (www.vintagerallies.com)? The New England 1000 (pre 75 sports cars) begins in Portland, ME on the afternoon of 22 May. Porsche is a sponsor this year. According to organizers, quite a few Porsches are participating. Apparently by coincidence, the PCA Zone 1 Rally and Concours is scheduled for 20-22 May, also in Portland. Anyone know anything?

Having done last years New England 1000 I can attest to the quality and overall fun-factor of the event. They usually get between 30 and 50 cars and always pick the most amazing routes. Days are broken down into "stages" which are timed for accuracy. Organizers Rich and Jean Taylor work hard to make it an enjoyable and hassle-free event. The accomadations and meal stops are always top-notch as is the mechanical support team that follows the rally. If you break-down you are met by the trailer and provided with a brand new Porsche for the day. Depending on the break-down the techs will usually have your car back the next day. The events are not cheap (I think it's around $4,000 for the week) but they are truly all-inclusive and very nice. Also, Rich Taylor usually gets access to some local tracks or closed hill-climbs.
