68 up engine grill -whats it worth?

ok, here is the engine grill that was originally on my car. someone had kryloned it flat black, so i replaced it with a nice pretty chrome one, and kept this one in my spare parts collection. this past weekend i took my time and stripped it. its clean, not exactly perfectly straight, as you can see it has some bends and warpage in it, but over all its not bad. im thinking about puting it up for sale on here, the 912 bbs or pelican, but not quite sure what a realistic value is, especially in this ones condition. any one have any ideas what the going rate is these days?

Maybe $50 to $100 based on others I've seen. Or you could get lucky on eBay.

I believe that is a '69 and up grill. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

That's a three bar, late 68 and 69 only. The engine lid matched by the way.

1970-on went to the five bar grill (with matching lid). Looks like the bars were drilled out on the top to replace the stud bolts? Don't think I've seen a 70 with a three bar grill.

How late in '68? Is there a way to tell what the car came with from the factory?

Good taste must run with those that choose the 2.2 That is exactly what I am doing Paul.

Dave, a painted three bar just sold for $32. The five bar grills have been going for $75-150 although I think Bob Tilton got extremely lucky with selling his 3 bar on Ebay and got outrageous money, I'm wanting to say like $250-$300.

BD: I don't know how you could find out if your car was originally equipped with the 3 or 5 bar lid/grill. The lids as I said were different so visually it's easy. The 3 bar lid had only three sets of mounting tabs where the 5 bar lid has the same three for mounting but, added two additional sets of tabs for additional support of the grill.

Now, if you happen to have an early 911 aluminum engine lid in perfect shape? WOW!!! BTW, my grille has a similar "wow" on the right side, thankful that it's much, much, smaller than the one shown. It was there, along with a bit of black coverup spray paint, when I bought the car. Pissed me off that it was there, but I still bought the car. I'm thinking a heavy handed dealership mechanic, who then tried to cover up his screw up...
