Broke metal brake line left rear

Well I managed to damage (aka break) the rear left metal brake line part #901.355.627.00 only $12. This line connects to a T connector in the right rear and then snakes up and over the trans to the left side. Anyone ever replace this line with out dropping the trans/engine?

My idea is to remove it and get bulk line and snake it under the trans by the trans support for protection to the left side, any better ideas or tips?

The reason I broke it is because I did not look at the parts diagram first, the right line came off with just one wrench from the T connector while the left side needed two wrenches to prevent the line from twisting. Basically I assumed the left would come off like the right.

Lesson: ALWAYS LOOK AT THE DIAGRAM FIRST NEVER ASSUME ANYTHING!!!

I saw your post on Pelican about this. I trust you got it fixed. I wondered if you had a flaring tool, if you couldn't add line from an accesable point on.

I wasn't able to mess with it today between work and my Grandfather's 93rd birthday. It's not that accessible I am not sure I could get a tool in there the line broke behind a bracket; I thought the hard line was fixed to the bracket.

I'll assess the situation again tomorrow.

I just that a couple of months ago. I got a replacement line from Parts Heaven (from a 912). You don't have to drop the motor/tranny, but you do have to remove the crossmember. Good luck!
