how to validate the model year...

As my dad has continued to get well, the ownership of another early car is haunting again.......

I just looked at a "70" T and noticed the chrome lower rocker trim ends prior to the circular "window"( suspension adjustment access?), like a 69 would have. I thought all 70's like my previous T, had trim that extends all the way to the front of rear wheel well?.....where on the vin, or how otherwise can I confirm the model year ?.....its nice to think of being back on board.......!

The 4th digit of the VIN should be '0' for a '70 911. Also the production # stamped on the dashboard beneath the right side knee pad should have a '0' for the 3rd digit. For example a '70 coupe would be 100XXXX.
