    Correct '70S front license bracket?

    Hello, All

Does anyone out there happen to know, or have a photo, of the correct front license plate mounting bracket for a '70S, as issued in California? There are two small holes under the deco trim for the bracket already. Thanks in advance!

Mine's a '73, but I'd have to guess that they're the same. You can see it in this photo, it's just a thin strip of metal.

Wow. That car is so beautiful that it took me a while to remember what I was looking for! I definitely have seen similar brackets on cars as early as '69's. Thanks!

    don't forget these....

This was another factory mount. The other above could go either back or front - but not sure it was meant for that????

The one below is nice (when restored) and is just for the front.

Sorry about the small pic - but you know the drill.

Anyone have a set of these to sell? I've been looking for awhile. I've got the first type that was on my rear panel.

Michael, you might try the P-car wrecked-em yards. Ask 'em to rob one off a twisted bumper? Some were steel, some aluminum. I'd suggest going for the aluminum if you can find one. Ask them to include the bolts & the rubber washers as well.

I belive it's the "European" Front License Plate Mount. With a little work, it can be adapted to American plates:

I have original NOS plate holders in the bag if your interested... PM me and let me know..

Paul,,, Dont believe they were ever made of aluminum... Originals where painted black and replacements were zinc plated to gve that alu appearance..

They did come in aluminum, and if you have an aluminum rear license plate panel the aluminum bracket should be on it and it looks like the one in the first picture (single bracket),and it should be in aluminum,if your car is an S,why less weight, just like the wing nuts on the air cleaner should be plastic, not metal,if you want to be anal about this stuff
