Thread: Should this be black?

    Should this be black?

I have a feeling this should not be black in my '68 S. It is the front end of the door trim.

    Thanks for your help.

I'm probably wrong and if so will shortly be corrected but, I think that the entire rocker trim you are showing is 69-73 and incorrect for 68. I think 67-68 S should still have the narrow trim strip and not the full rocker trim.

At any rate you are correct. Black is wrong for that piece.

Consider yourself corrected (unless I'm wrong)

Early 68 - the trim was changed, so Henry has the right trim but the caps should be the same anodized aluminum as the rest.

    Henry,
I might have an extra pair floating around. I will let you know if I can find them...

Thanks Guys, I'm aslo sure that the trim is corrsct, it was changed in '68.

Gruen, do let me know if you have a pair please. I'm going to try to remove the paint and polish them (which has worked well with other parts that were black in my car), but since these parts are "heavier use" given the location, a new pair would be great.

    Thanks again.

    Henry,

They usually polish up pretty well as they are stainless...you are correct that they are not to be black though.

OK, I knew I was probably half right.
