    1967?

    Not to be ignorant, but I assume this is a 1967 911S, but he calls it a 1966 because it was built in 1966?
    Just saw the SVRA at mid Ohio, looks like fun!

    No, from the VIN plate, it is clear that it is a '66, he just calls it an "S" in the title. It is clearly prepared beyond "'67S" specs, with 13:1 compression and '69S heads, etc., I think to optimize for the 2-liter classes in vintage racing. A stock '67S would be less potent.

    Looks like the seller didn't want to damage the VIN plate in a front end fender bender, so he mounted it next to the trunk chassis VIN.
    With a 13:1 compression I would think that the engine would need to be twin plugged? Unless he is running pure rocket fuel.
    This is no street car, but it's fun thinking about the possibilities of bringing it back to one!

    Not so. As discussed in an earlier thread, that is the correct position for the aluminum VIN plate on a '66. It was moved to the front lid latch panel in '67.
