The same car was on the Denver PCA web site for $57K, 40K is a hell of a deal for a good 2.0 vintage 911.

To me, this was beyond a "good" deal - a personal friend of mine from back to the early 70s builds these cars (among others) for 3R - his work and theirs in general is outstanding. We've been running an ad in PML for a west coast 2.0 911 at $95k - this one is not far off of that car and included a trailer. Twin plug would be nicer but since the car obviously is an RMVR car, it couldn't be built that way because of rules.

Didn't have time to read the link on the vin plate location, but other changes made during the 65 period may offer clues - 65/66 cars had solexes up to about the last 1000 66s built - my first vintage 911 was 303489 which is a 66 sn - it came with solexes, script on the decklid, but 2 screw horn grill (unlike the the true 65 cars) and it's vin plate location was as the one in this ad.

I note you also list "Editor the Esses" in your profile. Nice to "meet" you!

Yep, had that job for a couple of years. But, since I'm out hear in New Mexico rather than So Calif it made sense to let someone closer to the "action" handle it.

Any details of this west coast 2.0 911 at $95K?

The car is Brian O'Shaugnessy's 68 S - it's still available and I can get you info if you would like.

Send me a mailing address and I'll send you a copy of the issue that has all the info on the car. Or, stop by my booth at the GAF this weekend.
