Thread: How many trunk lights?

    How many trunk lights?

I was curious -- does anyone have two trunk lights? I do and I was wondering if that was an option, or if a PO / dealer installed the second light. It looks stock, opposite where the one light is normally. My car is a 1971 911T. Thanks,
    SCOTT

I believe the 72 and 73 had only one, on the passenger side. My 73S does. My 67 is not here to look at.

My current 1966 911 and 1970 911S both have two lights, as did my two 1967's and my 1970 E. My old 1972 911T had only one. All my 912's had only one.

Well, interesting... seems like the earlier the car the more likely it is to have two lights -- 1967-1971 seem to have them -- likely it is an "S" option. But as my dad likes to say, I like jump to conclusions with the least information possible

My car came without one. I put one in. Only the passenger side was stamped out for a light.

I have 2 in my '68 S, and they only turn on if I turn the lights on, which seems odd.

Makes sense to me...more than with the later cars. I mean, you need a trunk light during the day? I hope it also works with parking lights on, though. Headlights would be a heck of a drain.

I guess if you look at it that way..., it's still anoying to have to go back and pull the light switch (you see I ALWAYS forget).

And yes they do work with just the parking lights.
