    WANTED - twin-plug heads, 46 IDA's, etc

Looking for parts for my 2.5 litre short-stroke twin-plug engine build:

    twin-plug 2.2/2.4/2.7 heads*

    Marelli or Bosch twin-plug distributor

    46 IDA Webers/manifolds

*engine will be mainly for 'spirited' road use plus occasional track days so am looking for close to std port sizes (ie not full-race heads).

    Andy,

I hear there is a guy here in Australia with a twin plug distributor but he wants about A$11,000 (no typo) for it. Lisa_spyder may know more about it. friend of mine found one in the US recently for about US$4K.

You REALLY have to need one of these at these prices

    Happy hunting.

    Wow

Hello: If you are looking for original pieces for your car, you better start saving now. I've seen these twin plug original distributors go for between $1800- $5000. Original 46 Weber carbs made in Italy go for $2500, you can find the later 46 Webers for about $2000. If it was me and you have to have the carbs use the PMO's, they work great and are new. On the heads, I can maybe help you there, I have some on a 2.7 track engine that will be coming off. They have the 14mm top plugs and the 12mm bottom plugs. The port sizes are 38mm intake and 36mm exhaust with stock valves. The reason for the removal is that I'm going to MFI and the heads don't have the injector holes in them and I'm too lazy to machine them in. I maybe able to help with some 40 Webers. Let me know. Thanks Eric

Thanks for the replies guys - I know the price of these parts (but I think $11k Aus is unrealistic unless it's NOS - for that price I know of 2 or 3 here in the UK/Europe that are mint)...

Eric - thanks but I'm looking for a set of twin-plug heads with std-sized (36/35) ports.

    Andy,

I do believe the Aussie distributor IS new. can check and advise.

But $11K is still a bit steep.

Heck, you can buy a complete Motormeister engine for that ! even 2 or 3 !
