It's a nice one Stacy, not a Roger Penske Porsche frame, but nice enough.

Sorry the Penske Porsche frame is not for sale. In fact, I gave it to my very good friend who's VERY original '73 was delivered to Roger Penske Porsche. It is almost certain that the car was delivered with such a frame.

The guy on Pelican links to the auction, so I suppose that is his too. Well, I'm no expert, but those on Pelican don't look anything but new repros to me. I know where there is a real one. I tried for it, but it is in a display case and I guess that's where it will stay. but, if I had to compare, I know where to go.

Yes, I realize that during the course of the Polak business that different styles/makers may have been used. If I had to pin that down, I would venture over to Carl Thompson's and ask him. He probably ordered them in the first place.

Now, the one for now 300 looks OK to me, but what do I know?

So you think this is a fake? Why not, I suppose. If they can make fake Rolex watches nearly indistinguishable from the real thing, why not license plate frames?

Bob, $355 and climbing with 3 1/2 days left. We could be witnessing history.

Two friends from Dallas visited Vasek's dealership on a self-described "Pilgrimage to Mecca" before the man's passing and were treated to a full tour by Mr. Polack himself, including the warehouse with stacked racecars and crated 917 engines. When they inquired about the availability of license plate frames he replied "see the parts guy and tell him what you want". At first hesitant when asked "how many cars?", they got around to tallying up the total and that's exactly what they were presented with. One fellow has a gaggle of 356/early 911 cars and - yup - each one has a Vasek Polack frame. One copy was generously offered to me, so it's now a garage display.
