    Unhappy Engine Noise!!!!!!!

Today I noticed for the first time a noise coming from the engine. The noise is a metallic clunking sound that occurs at about 10 second intervals and does not speed up if the rpms go up. Could this be the timing chains skipping or jumping?

Anything that is moving inside the motor that clunks should change with RPM. Tensioner failures shouldn't clunk. Deep clunk are usually rod or crank knocks from too much bearing clearance. Is oil pressure OK? Does noise go away when motor heats up. Be very careful you don't want anything to fail it can get expensive when internal parts break.
    Good Luck,
    Phil
