    Just to keep the board apprised, the car sold for $16,000 with $1K in recent refurbishments (sport clutch, new motor mounts, major tune etc), and a restored targa top.

    Not to make you feel bad, but I had no trouble buying a very originial daily driver 1971 911T Targa. Mine was the only offer the previous owner received, and he had the car list for sale for 3 months. He was asking $8,500 and he took my $7,500. Of course, that was in 1987 The point being these are odd times for early 911s.
