Steering Rack Metal Cover

Does anyone know where you can buy the rubber profile that fits along the front and rear edges of the steering rack cover. I believe the rubber was the only used on cars with 85 litre plastic tanks.

The part numbers were 901 341 181 00 and 901 341 166 00.

The only difference was the length and it was straight when new and pushed onto the edge of the plate and held in place by metal embedded in the rubber.

Hi Clyde,

I have tried to find these but had no luck. NLA at Porsche.

A reasonable replacement that I used was was the seal that fits around the Targa bar and seals against the rear Targa glass. I am sure you are familiar with the seal.

It is not the exact profile but well.... better then nothing.

Excellent idea the style is right as you suggest and certainly better than nothing.

I have tried all sorts of car part manafacturers Ford, GMH etc and no one makes anything similar that I can find.

Stoddard Porsche carries a reproduction steering box cover seal. Their part number is SIC 341 165 00 and they sell for $20.09 each. I hope this helps.
